Character Slots

Your first powered character can be a 180 hero or 150 hero. A 180 hero starts at PL 10, with the option of spending up to 180 pp. A 150 hero also starts at PL10, but with only (as the name suggests) 150pp. You do not have to use up all your points in chargen. Teenaged characters must begin play as 150s. See Teenagers, 180s, and 150s.

In addition, you may app a PL 10 sidekick with 120pp to spend. This sidekick must be attached to an approved 180 or 150 hero. Heroes can have more than one sidekick, again within reason. Sidekicks do not count against your overall alt limit, though you may play only one. See Sidekicks

You may app as many PL5 citizens as you like, within reason. See PL5s

After you have acquired two PrP tokens you have the option of apping your second hero. If you have a 180 already, you must app a 150 as your second heroic alt.

After two months in play and with 10 more PrP tokens, you have the option of apping a third powered alt. This hero must be a 150. You also have the option of using this slot for a PL10 villain with 180pp. Villain applications will be heavily scrutinized. See Villain Apps

After six months in play and with another 25 PrP tokens, you may apply for a fourth powered alt which is eligible as a 150 hero or villain slot.

Application Process

The process for character application at Four Color Comics is fairly simple. It is as follows:

1. Check theme files and the wiki to figure out your concept. If you want to work yourself into an existing theme element, or add a new one, talk it over with a staffer. It can probably be done, but we need to keep track!

2. Once you've settled on a concept, enter CG and start filling out your stats and background. We don't need a novella for the background (please) but try to cover the bullet points of their life. What inspired them to become a hero? This is crucial. Set +notes (+help note): Briefly explain Powers, Drawbacks, Complications, and anything else that needs to be in a +note. Apps for 180 heroes should note that these are intended to be experienced characters. Teenaged characters must start as 150s.

3. Once your application is completed, you submit it for approval. Do this by submitting a +request for approval. Once staff has looked it over, you're good to go. This shouldn't take more than 48 hours. Have fun RPing!

Appstaff is available to answer any questions you may have. Please note that if a build turns out to be very unsuitable or unbalanced in play, or if something is mistakenly approved, we will work with players to edit it into line with the playerbase. This works in reverse as well--if you feel you made a mistake in your +sheet, you can +request to correct it. If you would like hints, tips and reminders on what is acceptable at FCC, please feel free to read our Chargen Guide.
